Meet Dr. Nidusha Ranaweera
Nidusha Ranaweera, BScH, DDS, MSc (Ortho).
Dr. Ranaweera was born and raised in Sri Lanka, and immigrated to Wolfville, Nova Scotia in 2010 to complete her undergraduate
education at Acadia University. In 2019, she graduated with Distinction from Dalhousie University with her Doctorate in Dental Surgery. During her time at Dalhousie, she earned a total of 11 awards, including the prestigious Dr. William W. Woodbury Memorial Prize for Outstanding Ability in Orthodontics.
After graduation, she moved to Toronto for her Hospital residency at Mount Sinai Hospital, where she received rigorous training in the management of dental emergencies and the dental needs of medically compromised individuals. Dr. Ranaweera then entered the University of Toronto to complete her Master of Science degree and Clinical Specialty Residency in Orthodontics. There, she was awarded the Wilson G. Harron M.Sc. Dental Specialty Scholarship for highest academic standing. After receiving a top-tier education in orthodontic treatment planning and execution, studying the newest scientific research, and training with the latest technologies, she is excited to be back in the East Coast! Dr. Ranaweera has strong ties in our community and is thrilled to work with patients of all ages to create a smile they love. She firmly believes in working with her patients to create a smile and bite that will stand the test of time while respecting the long-term health of the supporting foundations of our teeth. She is an active member of the Canadian Association of Orthodontists, American Association of Orthodontists, Canadian Dental Association, and the Nova Scotia Dental Association.
